Please try building a pfSense firewall with this board. I'm curious to know if it will work and if the NIC's are fully supported.

It's amazing how far the computing technology has gone through all these years. Truly impressive piece of PC.

The more I see those mini pc the more I don't understand their purpose. My hp 800 g4 mini draws about 2-2.5W when idling while having a i5 8500 65W TDP in it. I tested a topton n5100 4*2.5G NIC and never managed to fall below 4W idling. I might find one with a pentium in it and use it as router.

So, who stole the Windows License key? Since he held it on camera in plain view for such a long time?

@marccretten Says:
Excuse my ignorance but what or where would something like this be used?
@bluehornet6752 Says:
Happy to see that they've finally moved on from those 8-bit Atmega chips. Nothing wrong with them, it's just that in the 2020's there are much better options. Nice review CB.

I recently bought this board with Windows 11 and it works very well. But I was wondering if the wake on lan feature only works after booting into Windows first and then do a shutdown. If I completely power it off and then some time later connect the 12V adapter and ethernet cable then i'm unable to get it running using wake on lan.
@PorkChopify Says:
Are there any SBCs like this with onboard ADCs for sensor interfacing?
@maximgeerts Says:
I really like to buy this to replace my old hyper-v server with opnsence firewall on it. But I can't find any cases or other items to make a complete server out of it...please help!!
@setoman1 Says:
You lost me the moment you said Windows 11.
@JeremiahuTOY Says:
I realized today... This computer could easily be set up as a home security computer, with sensors wired directly to the GPIO pins from around a house. Simple wired sensor detection, controls, and alarms could be set up by a noob programmer (like me), while emergency service integration could also be done by a more advanced programmer. Sim card integration along with a battery could make this even better for home security.

I could find many uses for this board/connectivity
@googleyoutubechannel8554 Says:
At modern 'SBC' prices, they're trying to get you to believe that an 'SBC' is somehow cool and hip not just a kinda shitty laptop without a screen...
@bleeb1347 Says:
This great if you intend to *USE* the pi or pin outs, but any mini pc or netbook with an Intel N6005 will destroy this thing in CPU performance and *DOUBLE* the GPU performance for around $130 while these start ay$218.
@flowerpt Says:
What a wild board. I will keep it in mind should the need ever arise.
@kargandarr Says:
I will not be buying any of their systems with the new Windows Vista version on it.
@benjiderrick4590 Says:
The encoding results are very surprising. Did you enable quick sync with this board? I don't know how the delta can outperform the odyssey by that kind of margin otherwise!
@OurModelRailroad Says:
I don't know if you do requests but I am looking for the best single board computer to run PFSense and another for a 4 bay NAS. Would you please do a video on those with maybe a couple single board options.? Thanks.
@backgammonbacon Says:
I don't understand these, you can get smaller x86 computers like the mele quieter which comes with a case for much cheaper and a 2040 or whatever microcontroller you like and have the same basic functionality for $100 less and smaller overall.
@saeedgnu Says:
I saw my name several times. Who is the saeed in saeed studio?
@radja7589 Says:
Never buy this board. Intel celeron is a very weak processor.
@TOSStarTrek Says:
What is the big deal about using a 2.5Gb Ethernet jack on a 1 Ethernet switch?
@Sm1te79 Says:
Not sure of the importance regarding these Chinese x86 SBC's. A 5 year old Dell SFF system can outpace these things at 1/2 the cost. The Celeron on this board can barely power 1Gbit connectivity, so having 2.5 Gbit is pointless.
@ardithconley2628 Says:
Great video. I have said before I like the single board computer videos. I heard of something that I wonder how it would work on some of these computer which is ,"Tiny windows 10 and Tiny windows 11". I am wondering how they would work on boxes such as you have demonstrated?
@anythingbutASIC Says:
Is the Celeron J4125 still relivant when the N6000 is out now? For this price I don't think soo. The cellular network avalibility is interesting though.
@LeaChri Says:
I really like your channel. Thank you for your content. :-)
@BladeRunner21577 Says:
The loan of the product itself would count as a payment. You dont need to keep it or be given money to count as being paid.
@ccflan Says:
I love this guy for multiple reasons man you are so funny, long live to you my man
@p5eudo883 Says:
Thanks for the license key! On a serious note, this board seems like it would be great for some traffic filtering with pfSense.
@horusfalcon Says:
18:25 - I think you have a typo on one of the drive labels. That should read SATANTFS (and I would suggest SATA_NTFS) instead of SATANFTS. Call it a Church Lady squick... This is an interesting little board. Thanks for showing it to us.
@daniellundin8543 Says:
What is the chipset used for the NIC? Intel i225-V?
@dervaretyndigtland4760 Says:
Does it only support a 32 bit OS?
@martink.6872 Says:
Not sure if this has been asked before, but what about also listing the price of each SBC in video rendering comparisons (@ 17:12)? It's nice to know that an Odyseey X86J4125 is faster than a RPi4 but at which price? Let's say an Odyssey costs 10times a RPi4 (wild guess). That would make its performance less impressive. What I'm basically suggesting is a 'Performace per Pound/Dollar' figure. Looking at the skyrocketing energy prices recently even a 'Performance per Watt' figure would make sense when using the Odyseey for some kind of 24/7 running OpenWRT Router project.
@rogerhalt3991 Says:
This is great, I would love the option to upgrade to at least an i5 for editing 4k footage. I can see myself stacking the frame to hold 2.5 drives inside the pc
@udirt Says:
The ESD shielding on the port is a really positive surprise, too.
@alceearsberry4150 Says:
Why is this sbc so expensive iam confused it doesn't have a powerful CPU I wish you would test games for performance and some emulation of older systems like PS2 GameCube and Geekbench test great video though thanks 👍

Thanks, Chris - what's it like for accessing the GPIOs and the RP2040 and those GPIO pins - can you still do this when in Windows?

@osint_india Says:
can this run pfsense with a compatible cellular module ? if yes can you suggest a compatible module ?

We really need an ExplainingComputers/Future explanation about the recent AI explosion. I think the future of the world could depend on it..!
@shanesteven4578 Says:
Totally off script! Please, take a look at the latest GPT4ALL now hitting the mainstream GPT Communities. It allows for the running of an entire 4gb Chat which has been trained on quality clean dataset, on something as small as a Pi 3-4 etc I seriously think ‘you’ doing a walk-through, start to finish and setting the system to work ‘off grid’ which is what it’s does, it runs on your machine, without internet connection, would be extremely and I really do mean an extremely popular video!!!
@MnemonicCarrier Says:
I like it a lot, but at this price point, I'd probably just roll with a "mini PC". Having said that, I don't think there are any mini PCs at this price point with dual 2.5Gbps networking.
@brunospfc8511 Says:
I do NOT recomend this model, as it is a j4125 it cannot work good as a HTPC, because of hdmi limitation and no HDR....and no AVX....i suggest buying the i3 model of the same computer. That was way better....
