Never buy a Pixel 6 model they have major network issues widely reported since 2021 and Google admitted it yet have been claiming since 2021 the next update will fix it. All they offer is a RMA in which you likely get another phone with the same issue like me. They will verbally tell you they escalated the case and verbally tell you it got denied with no email confirmation or number so you have to just take their word for it. Many people will have the Pixel 6 and know people without the issue but many like myself do and it loses connection every single day dozens of times a day and a $50 UMX phone with the same sim cards doesn't. I've done every possible troubleshooting method 6 total sim cards 3 ATT and 3 T-Mobile all had this issue. Support is useless and many people go through 3-5 RMA's all with the issue and still no fix. Its an issue with the modem inside of it or however they designed the phone and manufactured it. It's got the Exynos 5123 chip which even at the time of release was a bad and dated chip with lots of issues. I miss extremely important Doctor calls and will have no service for up to 20 minutes at a time dozens of times a day and then get spammed with notifications when it comes back. The top 100 or so search results of troubleshooting network issues I've tried and went way beyond that. I'm manually went into debugging mode to mess with the bands I flashed different versions of android 12 and 13 along with 14 beta. There is nothing I have not tried and Google simply isn't helping. Phone should have been voluntarily recalled off the shelves and then fixed but that would cost too much for them even being owned by the 4th biggest company in the world. A phone is supposed to be able to make and receive calls and both Pixel 6's I've had including a RMA one supposedly tested by the best engineers have the exact same issue.

I know i am a little late, but I just got my Google pixel 6a for black Friday at $299. I started with the Google pixel 2, (still runs with slight battery problems, dies when I open the camera below 20%) then the 4a which worked perfect. Fast charging, apps ran well. But I left it at the bus stop when I was drunk. Oops. Lucky I had my pixel 2 to fall back on. Then I bought the 6a. This thing is snappy. I just ran a benchmark test. 1046 single core. 2871 multi core. For $299! This isn't a flagship. But I could have bought three of these phones for the price of a flagship. I'm glad Google is doing their customers right. And I will continue buying Google products. Side note their customer service is amazing. And with things like call holding and callbacks. Automated viewing menus for toll free numbers. The fact I can let my phone assistant talk to an unknown number. With a top tier CPU. Yeah unfortunately I won't have a reason to buy a pixel 7. Talk to me when the 8 rolls around.

Very interesting to watch this back one year later. It looks like Google does really want to get Tensor based Pixels in as many peoples hands as possible. As of the 7, Pixels have become available in much more countries and having their own SOC seems to enable them to practically give away phones if you're willing to switch from Apple or Samsung, aggressive discounts have them cover the mid-range market with the 6a too.
@nauxsi Says:
Pixel 7 released. Tensor is now gen2. But of the original chips, google have sent out updates over the past 12 months. How do these chips perform now with the updates so far.

I had the pixel 6 for 1 day (brought it back to the shop) because the Tensor chip was over heating... I should have checked reddit before buying.

@Marques Brownlee How about reflecting on all hopes and predictions that you made in this video, now? It would be interesting to get some insights from a regular Pixel user.

I'm curious about the optimization of apps. If a manufacturer using their own processor, does applications such as Instagram are gonna be optimized like the iphones?
@angryquack9687 Says:
@mkbhd so you're saying that google makes money from the users data mining to push targeted advertisments, but you compare it to apple's ecosystem. Shouldn't google pay you to use their personal data mining phone?
@aykutbaykara6053 Says:
Have you ever tried to make a Whatsapp video call with Pixel 6 Pro? The picture quality in video calls is incredibly low/bad, even the old phones have better than this.

I'm done with this guy, he thinks he knows stuff, about tech...just stop. It's like watching a cringeyy 16 year old in school thinking he knows EVERYTHING about computing and hardware.

so expecting some games will be optimized for Mali now. Hope Qualcomm Adreno will come up with something vs Dimensity 9000 GPU, I heard it has Ray Tracing capability.

@derekgrimes6544 Says:
thanks, subscribed.. ! I got the pro and am well chuffed with it so far, it's not too big as I had been afraid of coming from iPhone se 2020, and it's lovely and light too. I just made the mistake of not researching beforehand how to export WhatsApp chats from iPhone, so I missed my window of opportunity to do so immediately out of the box. I tried factory resetting but phone said "no" :-D

How I wish to have any of the 6 series of the Pixel phones, it broke my heart when I heard the price here in our country (Philippines) :( If ever I am gonna get one that would be the best Christmas gift I have ever received in my entire life. I am huge fan of Google Products but sadly aside that I can't afford any of their products is we do have physical store here in Asia :( I am hoping Marques Brownlee notice me though :(

Was a Nexus user till it's end, now with the Pixel line it's great, love the Vanilla Android experience, was using the PlusOne as it was the closest thing to Vanilla besides the Pixel, thought OnePlus was just a little better than the Pixel phones overall, with the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, and the Price going up on the OnePlus I think I'm ready to get back on Google's bandwagon. Maybe like Apple with the M1 chip, the Tensor chip can power Chromebooks and maybe in the near future can upgrade ChromeOS to the point of being able to challange Windows, maybe something lilke Apple and their Mac's and OS.
@Hal-zf4fv Says:
I’ve had hands on the pixel 6 pro for about 20 minutes in a controlled environment. Ie no photos etc. but I could whizz through the os, load apps watch YouTube etc. I can say that it’s the most smooth os experience I’ve ever had on any phone ever! From the spec I know it’ll not be the most powerful phone on paper or benchmarks. But it’s more than enough that I know. iPhone is a prime example of raw power that is utterly unnecessary! Absolutely not needed. I’d say 60 percent plus of iPhones raw power is not harnessed or even needed. Software just doesn’t need that sort of brute force to work well! So what tensor is bringing is a way more sensible and grown up approach to how we use our phones. It’ll get smarter as it’s used. If you want to game it has a 20 core Gpu which will be more than adequate. But things like machine learning and AI are much more useful. Well done Google, you are bringing us what we want! And what is useful and sensible and useable!

@twijayamail Says:
putting AI in a hardware chip? sounds like Theranos marketing mumbo jumbo bull*. why do you need AI in a phone?
@marklouieadame Says:
The only way a google phone to succeed is to create an ecosystem google phone, watch, buds, item finder and goggle chrome etc...

Can a reviewer under embargo be impartial and honest? What is Google hiding by corrupting all these youtubers. If you thing your product is better, Then why impose embargo?
@Abdousjh Says:

@maggillaguerrilla830 Says:
Google has gotten better because the work they do for China helping that country with their tracking of people violating human rights all because of their social credit score.
@Anselwithmac Says:
I always love all your videos but there’s a lot of strange speculation in this one. I see the potential of tensor, but there’s a great chance it’s just to break away from Qualcom, who’s moving at a snails pace and has a grip on so many technologies
@Rumeel12708 Says:
Have to wait until they restock 😫😭😭😭😭😀, have been wanting a Google phone and it looks like this is it, just waiting for the real reviews and the hype to cool down to see the truth!!!!
