while I agree with you that 'almost no one will buy this' there is a glaringly obvious omission from this, Majority of people I would say at least 80% of people (probably more) do not buy a mobile based in how good the mobile is, how it performs etc etc most people buy phones based on a sheep follow the heard mentality basically what everyone else is buying. A video that highlights this is on jimmy Kimmel where they took a old I phone went on the street with a camera crew and asked people what they thought about the new unrealised I phone and every single person was saying how much better it was than the old model as they are pre conditioned to think anything new by Apple is amazing just because of the heard mentality (not that apple are Alone in this Samsung are just the same), I mean look at the apple adverts they rarely saying anything about what it does just play some cool music and put up some cool visuals and everyone goes oooh I must buy this, even on the rare occasion they say a feature its only one feature and tells you nothing else about the phone yet they know millions will rush to buy it at the over inflated prices because most of the public are sheep that the big phone companies exploit.

just buy a matte screen protector
@ozywade Says:
nearly 8.06 minutes to explain the screen....? like Wow!...
@tonnyespeset Says:
Are there any screen protectors, like a screen film layer, that could bring the same effect to regular phones?

on curved screen it would look dope

I'm much more interested in the tablet from this series. I use the tablet 99% indoors, and reading news, articles, etc., on such a display... Hmm, that sounds really good. As a phone, I'm not sure I would go for it, but I would definitely check out an OLED/AMOLED technology under it.
@NimsChannel Says:
Epaper is often referring to generally multiple technologies. Eink is the actual display tech for kindle and other readers. Nxtpaper was a reflective (outside light) display that always looked pretty bad. This tech looks a bit different, but I wouldn't consider it paper like. I'm not even sure what the tech is for, considering it doesn't look good in sunlight. It's just a soft screen with a black and white mode. You can find devices with nxtpaper screens some 15 years back. They are not this.
@oliviamanifold129 Says:
I heard about this from a tcl brand rep and i bought one like the next day lol and oh my god it looks so so good

A phone that is not unlocked and doesn't offer dual-sim feature.
Utterly pathetic! Might be best to use it without sim card.

Great video!
@kabab-case Says:
I bought it and I am sure I don't use any other type of display any more ! Because it is so much more satisfying to glide on this display like paper. I am honest with you and only downsides are the same the guy told us! But I'm happy.
@victormwangi5488 Says:
I used a matte screen protector once and hated the experience. I'm def not getting a matte phone.

I AM NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORIST ... However, I would NOT buy any advanced products from Chinese Gov't dominated/subjugated companies. It is a fact, they have "stealth" technology to collect day-to-day information from USA and European people. It would make it easy to map where military aged people live, where critical professionals live, etc. ... once fed to an Artificial Intelligence analytical system, that potentially can, precisely, indicate the optimal zones to "neutralize", or evade in an invasion - military or cyber-warfare form. Always buy American or European. THINK ABOUT IT ...
@bradcruise6291 Says:
If they start making matte phones I'm giving up. I'm buying Chinese phones after that.
@J.A.N.O.S Says:
I bought it, the screen is bright enough, it's sharp enough and it looks full HD... So idk what are you talking about? And yep, I'm used to having flagship phones
@jakjak258 Says:
why you don't just put screen protector that have this balance of reflection and premium touch..

@luqman_azeem Says:
I used to be shocked at how matte ceramic screen protectors used to be available for cheap to make the phone feel better immediately.
But when I learned how easily it scratches and doesn't display well in the sun, I just forgot about it.
@tutacat Says:
You can have matte protector.

Hey marques, if you suffer from eye strain, like i did. What causes brutal eye strain is using your phone or monitor in darkness. Always use a bedside lamp at night.Also need ambient lighting behind your monitor or tv. Watching in total darkness gives painful eye strain. Hopefully this helps a somone.
@yaman7008 Says:
The Samsung A15 is way better with G99 processor and super amoled display for only 160 bucks

@Marc.Google Says:
Agreed. We spend so much time reading and looking at our phones I think this display tech would be a smart shift…
@lmontoyad Says:
Listening to your thoughts on this phone, I immediately got where this technology is perfect for. Tablets! Which you mentioned at the end of the video. Seems like getting thebest of both worlds.

So I am probably in the minority here, as I am actually very pleased with the Nxtpaper 40 smartphone. I purchased it a few weeks ago, after having a very positive experience with my Nxtpaper 11 tablet. The screens on both devices are very comfortable and easy on the eye. I didn't get that experience with other phones/tablets with a matte screen protector. My phone came with a stylus (capacitve) and a case, which I like. I also replaced my old ipad with TCL Nxtpaper 11 tablet and purchased the official case and active stylus (4096 pressure levels) which I use for digital artwork on the go. I mainly read artbooks, watch videos and browse the internet on my tablet. I used to suffer from eyestrain (yes i tried numerous devices and matte screen protectors) and since I switched to these Nxtpaper devices, I have been a lot happier.

@jastern949 Says:
- The TLC 40 NXTPAPER is nice, but it just reduces reflections. It's still an INDOOR PHONE.
- It is missing the #1 advantage of all e-ink screens: The screen gets BETTER when taken OUTSIDE.
- For example, I like the Hisense A7CC (and A5*, A9*, and others like these) for true outside visibility.(*)
- But being e-ink, these are slower response, and not for those who want to watch video on their phone.
- If you are trying to wean yourself from screen addiction, and thus just want to use your phone for business, then e-Ink is your choice.
(*) I only use Hisense as an example. I have no affiliation with Hisense, and some Hisense phone models /do/ have some cell provider incompatibilities in the US. There is also the Yotaphone, and a couple of others as of May 2024. Hopefully there will soon more!
Personally, for outdoor visibility, I still prefer my 1999 Blackberry 7290 screen to everything that has come along since. I have no idea what technology they used, and I can't find out what it was at the time. But 25+ years later, I'd still vote for that tech in an OUTDOOR phone.
