If there's a financial incentive to get the rarest, best footage of Tesla vehicles in production, people are going to push that envelope until something breaks. Period. There should be zero expectation of people in a highly competitive space to govern their behavior right up to that edge of it being criminal.
Advertising money: There is a counter argument on that. Advertising dollars are an essential part of our economic reality. Without that money pouring in, many vital sectors would collapse. Some would consider a multi-billion dollar company never spending money on advertising as being somewhat villainous. All of those platforms and media outlets that Tesla relies on to keep their "hype machine" rolling mostly survive on advertising. Hopefully you see my point. In smaller communities, large brand names often spend healthy advertising dollars with local newspapers and magazines—not because they need to for sales—but because it helps grease the wheels of that local economy/community.

The Tesla design studio is actually right next door to Hawthorne airport (literally feet away). Flying a drone there would seriously risk the safety of everyone using that airport, which can be quite busy at times.

The whole drone thing is kind of already ruined just in a way you mostly don't notice ... Recreational freestyle fpv drone pilots are often times ... Actually always, being described the same as these DJI kinda people ... And so when those camera drone guys screw something up mostly we get the return for that ... So NGL ... Kinda unhappy seeing these drone shots of people flying over companys and the heads of people who litterly just work there and have nothing to do with the drone flyer.
Not to say that I think everybody should hate these ... But it is important to keep that in mind and make the destinction

I mean.. just look at SpaceX, they are building the next generation rockets a few feet from a public road in Boca Chica. Even allowing NasaSpaceFlight to setup live 24/7 cameras on their property. There was a incident where a camera was taken down and Elon himself made sure it woulnd't happen again and made a deal with them to not only get all the equipment back, but also have a spot closer to the rockets.

The interesting thing about drones is flying over 500 feet in elevation in many locations puts you in FAA controlled air space, but private property in the majority of the USA owns and controls air space up to 500 feet in elevation. In almost all cases a drone is flying over private property the property owner has every right to stop the drone up to and including destroying the drone.

If you know people are flying drones and posting on YouTube, you can use that to control the narrative. "Why did a fleet of cars just appear?" "Why have some makes moved?" "Why is this car being worked on right now?" All that can be calculated to draw attention.
