I'm currently watching this on my new S22 Ultra, and wow, what a breath of fresh air this phone is.
The last flagship phone I had was the S9+, which was a fantastic phone, but it had a few shortcomings. Battery life was not great, but those battery cases came in clutch. The only real problem was the cell antenna, I live in a rural area. And work in the family funeral business, So I need to be able to take calls 24/7.
So I ended up switching to Motorola for a few years. It was a major downgrade, but the cellular coverage was fantastic. Eventually, the screen cracked, and the phone started bugging out more and more over a few months. I got really tired of the phone slowly dying, topped with its majorly lacking features, and poorly designed UI.
So now I have an S22 Ultra! I know I'm a couple of years behind, but I've never been on the cutting edge of technology. Despite working in the funeral business, we really don't make a lot of money. We're ultimately just a retail store, and we're a small town business, so we don't really mark up the prices past what's necessary. On top of that, it's nice to sit behind the cutting edge so everything can be ironed out before I hop on it.
Needless to say, I'm very happy with the upgrade. I've been a Samsung customer all my 20 years of life. So it feels like I'm finally back home, but my God, did they do some renovations while I was gone... It's been a little bit of a challenge getting used to Samsungs upgrades and new features. But every time I figure something out, I'm impressed with how cool these new features and quality of life changes are.
The features I missed most about Samsung are:
The stereo speakers, they sound fantastic.
The seamless and fast switching between wifi networks and data, without me having to do it manually.
The Bluetooth quickly connects to my devices without me having to go into settings and manually selecting what I want to connect to.
Bixby, surprisingly enough.
Wireless charging.
Samsung's economy and app network.
NFC.
I really could go on all day, but you've most likely stopped reading this past the second paragraph.
The takeaway here is: don't use cheap Motorolas, the S Pen is literally magic, the under display fingerprint reader is a huge upgrade, and we need that under display selfie camera already.

My main motivation for upgrading is that the version of android available for the s20 is no longer supported.
