i'm one of those people that just loooove a single board computer. I can't explain why, but it's just so fascinating and fun. The perfect little toy to tickle my brain ❤

By watching your videos I've put together a RaspberryPi4 8GB with Recalbox OS, which also contain KODI media player. Now with that device I can play my favorite retro games, and access to media on NAS. I'm one of those individuals happy with their Raspberry Pi
@saturn5tony Says:
True I have a pi4 and it's the coolest retro gaming controller I have, along with the internet info about pi makes me happy. 😊

@foxyrollouts Says:
Im def interested in a pi for coding and linux. Though its also true for about the same price i can buy an i7 mini computer. I also want to use raspberry pi to learn embedded. Im not interested at mo in x86

wow this opens my brain

I love your channel. I only just realised I hadn't subscribed after watching many of your videos which I put right today. As an older gent your videos remind me of the 1970s and 80s computer programmes on TV, or the Open University in the UK back then. All in a good way as they are explain things simply for the every day user which can be a difficult thing to do. Splendid Sir.
@marcusroussy9271 Says:
Not sure if you made a video on this but CASA OS is really cool little server os runs amazing like fast on pi 4
@marcusroussy9271 Says:
I got a pi 4 and 5 and just getting into it with kali Linux and security lol. Very fun little SPCs pi 5 is definitely faster by quite a bit overclocked almost 3 times. I was able to run you tube at 1440p no issue Overclocked with mx Linux 23.1 using chrome. what i find runs incredibly fast even on pi4 8gb is android 14 it uses the gpu in all the apps so when you run you tube app or plex it treats it like a game and you get full hardware acceleration. Anyways Cheers thanks for the videos keep up the good work
@laylamonroe-of5kl Says:
Pretty sure this is how I've gotten hacked by my s.o
@DukensteinA1 Says:
I’m really late to this but your last one about just making people happy playing with it… really speaks to me. SBCs make me happy and I’m glad you brought this up to validate me. Thank you.
@hanswurst418 Says:
Yes, youre right. The last two things you can do with a Pi is Learn and have Fun. Wise words ! .
@davidd2661 Says:
For some unknown reason, I feel the raspberry pi useless in the MCU lineup. It's overpriced and overpowered for simple things you mentioned, but underpowered for complex things. I know it has a huge fanbase, but what if there are things like ESP32, PI pico, Arduino, etc...

why u so lame

I am in mid-70s and no longer well. But now developing enthusiasm for Python and hobby electronics having acquired Raspberry Pi. As you say in Video its purpose is to make me happy, stimulate my remaining grey cells and not overstretch my budget. Thank you for video.
@patrpatl Says:
If it is true, i have watched 75% of your upload. Watched 280/400. Loved all of them because they're helpful and nice. 🎉Congrats for 400 Videos🎉
@roofoofighter Says:
Have you ever used Arduino? I’m wondering how it compares to Raspberry pi.
@MrBobWareham Says:
A pointless video as you can't get one now unless you have a very deep pocket and are stupid
@emilgil1490 Says:
YEAH! "What are computers fore" is IT. Please show what NEW can be done with new machines. Not MORE but NEW. Neural networks, tensor processors, programmable hardware.
@Furzkampfbomber Says:
I don't want to spam comments under every single one of your videos I am watching (not at least since I am watching a _lot_ of them recently), but that last remark of yours is something I am telling people quite often. I seem to have hobbies that people do not get, even more so in combination of my age. But where exactly is written in stone 'Thou shall not be a Warhammer 40k nerd after getting 30!'? And where is written that every hobby must make sense for other people or has to be productive in a particular sense? The thing is, I am tinkering with electronics and things like SBCs, even when not having a grasp of many things (yet), because it is interesting and fun. And because it expands my horizont with everything I do, even if I fail.
@beisola-ml1yn Says:
My main use is the last one for sure, and it’s pleasant to hear someone saying that yout hobby is really a normal hobby. Great video mate, I really appreciate all of your videos! Hope your channel grow up more and more, so people can get addicted to it like me!
@walteriglesiasphoto Says:
Congratulations on the 400th. I will be there for the 10 000th. Greetings from Barcelona.
@hasansalim1868 Says:
Well, yes we enjoyed having and tinkering with Raspberry Pi. Thanks Chris
@needsomehike Says:
How could i use my SAS SSD on a raspi? Any idea would be appreciated.
@thesenamesaretaken Says:
Since you bring up Blender, it's worth mentioning that you're limited to older versions (up to 2.79 unless I'm mistaken) as the RPi doesn't have the hardware support for newer versions.
@pray4rage Says:
You're so right. For some of us just having the Pi as a "toy" is all we need.
@markmoore8642 Says:
Love your channel, very informative and a great resource. Wondered if I could impose. I would like to know if I can use a RPi with a touch screen case to make a systems monitor to monitor my internet connection, Plex svr, Pi-Hole, OMV and so on. Is there any videos that you might have done on the subject. Anyway was just curious, been forever since I have done those kind of software monitoring solutions. Neat stuff, drawing boxes that represent buildings and places objects within those boxes that represent the switches and routers in the field. Jolly good. Mark
@theowolf960 Says:
Yeah, I've had Pi Hole on my headless Pi Zero W for near 3 years. Other than an update going seriously sideways, no issues whatever. 6% CPU and 40% RAM load. 150k block list. With 19 clients, 14k blocked of 81k queries in the past 24 hours. Not at all bad for a computer powered via a USB charging station. Cost all of $40 for the kit, including case, cables, and SD, none of which I had. As the video points out, an advantage with a Pi is if it goes sideways, you can simply reflash. Exactly what I did with the update mentioned above. As the Pi in question is, in my use case, a Single Purpose Computer, all I needed to do was reflash Raspbian and reinstall Pi Hole. I didn't need to bother with trying to sort it nor be concerned with losing other things.
@bear35100 Says:
Congratulations on 400 great videos! I have a suggestions for an upcoming video: availability of RPi and alternatives/clones. Right now, it seemes impossible to get hold of a Pi and it would be handy to know if you could use other SBCs as a drop-in replacement.
@jimalix6270 Says:
I've been curious about Raspberry Pi for some time now, but haven't yet had a pressing use-case. Your last point is probably the best -- to have fun! I love it!
@dougpark Says:
Thanks!
@technoWZ5598 Says:
Good job on getting 400 videos out on the channel Chris! I'll definitely keep watching and liking your videos for years to come. I am personally going to get a Raspberry Pi for Christmas, and specifically set it up for retro gaming, and I will also use Risc OS on it from time to time. You can even emulate speech synthesis with a Raspberry Pi running Risc OS, using E-speak, one of my personal favourite free and open source applications. It's available for all the major platforms, Windows, Mac and Linux. If I may ask too , what Raspberry Pi model would you suggest buying for a retro gaming setup?
@tjrjcj Says:
Congrats, Christopher. An honor well earned.
@ZdorovenniyYAZ Says:
I bought my Raspberry Pi-3B exclusively to make an Internet Radio by Bob Rathbone.

I saw videos on burglar alarms, routers, various DNS servers and cache servers to mention a few! It is really an exiting little board which should never be underestimated!
@francis400 Says:
One of my interests is seeing how people get the most use out of small shop buildings or rooms. I knew nothing at all about small form computers until finding this channel. Transpose all the time people spend on their smart phones to using these sort of machines and imagine the productivity!
@stephenridgway2720 Says:
Yes, some of us do this for fu-un!
@killmechanizm2424 Says:
Congratulations on the 400th video!
@chrismclean2989 Says:
Given RPie is ARM processed… how would it compare today to a BBC Micro or ( my favourite) an Acorn Electron ?… shows how old I am doesn’t it 😂👍
@RichardNobel Says:
Here I was, thinking (hoping) that *Brompton* 🚲 found a really exciting use for Raspberry Pi SBCs. When I saw this video pop up in my notifications: _"Brompton meets Raspberry Pi"_ ▶ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh2Awd_0jh0 From the official Raspberry Pi channel. Turns out Brompton did *not* combine any Pi boards with their popular folding bicycles. 😞Which was my wishful thinking, upon seeing the video thumbnail. ;) But what the video _does_ tell us: Brompton have been using Raspberry Pi for production stations on their factory-floor, since 2013. Great to see, right? 😎 How such a iconic British bike manufacturer has incorporated, in their assembly processes, the little computers that obviously also have a UK company behind them. 🇬🇧 https://www.raspberrypi.com/success-stories/brompton/
