I haven't tried it on the RPI, but judged by it's performance on the Orange Pi, FydeOS should be very interesting for general purpose users. Very low resource requirements, very polished surface and this highly interesting ChromeOS versatility because of Android and Linux subsystems.

Being a slow convert to Linux on an old Laptop.. and settling on Linux Mint its nice to see theres something that supports the Mate desktop. After playing with a few, thats a nice setup and comfortable to use

I am a Ubuntu Mate user and I am in your position now: my all in one computer is broken and I use a Raspberry Pi 4 witn 4 gb ram as a desktop until the aio comes back from service. In order to take advantage of the 6.2 kernel optimizations I flashed 64 bit ubuntu on a ssd drive via usb adaptor. In that regular ubuntu distro i installed ubuntu mate desktop with all it's programs and lightdm via apt so now i have a up to date ubuntu mate distro with linux kernel 6.2 which runs better on rpi4 than the lts distro available on their site with kernel 5.1 on it.

I realize terminal is available.

Another os that I like is Kali Linux, looks good and runs well on my Pi 4, only reason I changed back to raspberry pi os is that the picamera2 library doesn't seem to be supported atm which is a bit of a shame.

I'm thinking about replacing my worn-out laptop with this Raspberry Pi 4 Ultimate Kit (8GB) $311.13 AUD. My HP ENVY dv7-7205tx Notebook keeps shutting down when I play movies because it overheats & it won't support more than one external HDD at a time. I have to look into the video chip on this board to see if it's any better than my laptop & if it's going to play movies all that good, I really only use the laptop for internet, movies & storage of files on HDD's. If anyone with experience of this can give me some advice, I would appreciate it greatly.

Keep finding myself back with Twister OS for my pi 400. I just went through a few of those distros this past weekend and while I liked something about each of them, Twister OS seems to have everything I want right out of the box. I just wish it was 64-bit. If not Twister then I would have to say Pi OS lite with KDE Plasma desktop. Great video.

I would hope you would do a thorough review of Berry Boot with dual monitors in the near future. While I have successfully used Berry Boot, I have yet to have it working with two monitors on any of Berry Boot installs. I have installed Berry Boot on a GeekWorm, Deskpi Pro, and Argon One using Ubuntu, Majaro, Raspbery Pi, and Kali and none will provide dual monitors when booting with Berry Boot. They do provide dual monitors when I boot directly with those OSs, except Kali will actually display the Berry Boot drive.
So, I am hoping you will do a review on this and see if you can solve the problem. Again, thank you for the many years of Explaining Computers.

Interesting video - I've got a Pi 3B I've had for YEARS now and I was actually wondering about moving away from Raspbian to Ubuntu Mate but after seeing this I'll stick with Raspbian. It does everything I need it to. Its been on continuously for like 3 years at this point and its always doing something. I'm not aware that its ever crashed apart from the odd time we've had the power off or its cut out.

Fantastic video, can i ask...is it possible to set up a pi server with multi masters for redundancy and also CDN and cluster. Basically im looking to create a decentralized mesh network with redundancy but there is NO dual master not clusters in case of master node failure, only slave redundance in that other pi's in a cluster would take up the workload.
