if US citizens are buying a phone based on a literal messaging app, it speaks volumes about their decision making, literally NOBODY gives af about iMessage outside the US

Pixel watch not working on the iphone makes perfect sense. If there are limitations to working with the iphone such as all or no notifications , i think if I were an exec at pixel , id rather it not work than work shabbily.. and also there's the revenge factor 😂
@Dontlookjustwatch Says:
It's actually incredibly easy to switch. Just don't upgrade constantly. Give it about 2 years and your Apple device will start to seem slow and sluggish and by the time you're fed up, you realize the grass really is greener on the other side
@kensonplays Says:
Actually … I just switched to an iPhone because it meets my needs and it helps with my ADHD now better than my android did, but I have a pixel watch too and through the Fitbit app I can access all of its data. True, it’s not native with Apple health, but it is still fully accessible through the Fitbit app.

Shouldn't the title be Is the Apple ecosystem illegal?
@Tagonns_Tech_Videos Says:
Yea I always rock a case ever since that day I dropped my phone when I was getting out of my car and it was on my lap. It fell onto the asphalt and slid down a bit I waited for it to make a complete stop as to not fumble it and make it worse not that I could have cause the entire screen was shattered. So yea always rock a case unless you want tour phone to be like my Samsung Galaxy SIII shattered and dead.
@wxracer23 Says:
To me it sounds really bad owning something that only works with one thing. When I had my iPhone I would go to the Apple store and realize a lot of the stuff they sell only works with Apple, and like home kit certified things cost way more. I just got tired of the whole song and dance
@GizzleFr Says:
To be frank why would they make it so any other smart watch works as good with your iPhone? Even if you could do these things on other smart watches I bet majority of people would still stick with the apple ecosystem, regardless if apple feels like they need to force it or not. It’s like an ocd/organized kind of feeling you get from knowing all your tech links with itself perfectly, as perfect as it can possibly link together To add to this, apple made and created the idea of iMessage. Who’s to say they have to compromise that by allowing android in the door to use it as well? That’s like saying telegram has to link with instagram because telegram messaging is so much better formed and less of a pain (just an example). That’s just stupid. If you want in on iMessage simple as they said, buy an iPhone. Or an apple device period. Why do I have to share my golden methods just because you didn’t think of doing it, just because your shitty methods are indeed shitty. That doesn’t make any sense business wise, of course they would keep it to themselves. If I bake cookies and you bake cookies, and we have a cookie business battle, and mine taste better due to my cooking methods, why tf do I need to share my recipe with you just because you can’t make good cookies 😂😂😂. This is an android problem, not an apple problem.

Not everyone can buy a New Porche or Live in Carmel on 17 Mile Drive. I was given a free used iPhone X to get security codes. It is security and ease of use that l value most, plus a random picture or a receipt sent by someone that is secured from prying eyes that l find Apple executes extremely well. Someday, Linux will have a phone and there are rumors Tesla will release a TESLA Pi Phone in 2026 or 2027 or 2028 or 20xx. 😊 We in America do not have to buy an Apple Product and there are hundreds of other choices refurbished or new by the the millions. 😵‍💫🥴😵‍💫

@czechvirusS Says:
"bah bah its not the only compamy that does jt" stupid whataboutism. other companies can get away with it because apple did it first and does it the most. like Limiting wireless charging to half if it doesn't have a MFI chip? thats simply predatory. funny how those chargers can get the same speed on android phones but not on iphones ......
@cjdodson5700 Says:
apples the biggest monopoly in the world 😂 (i own almost every poroduct😂)
@platinumclaw Says:
Never thought about iMessage being the alternative to paying for SMS back then. That does make sense when it's put that way. Also I'm learning through the comments that Apple is significantly more expensive outside of the US. Always confused me when people brought up costs cause phone prices are relatively similar here.
@ryanfliegel Says:
The problem is that android companies do the same thing. My pixel buds will not work well with my iPhone 17. I don't have an app and I can't update the earbuds. That's basically the experience with airpods in an android🤷
@Optimus_Maximus75 Says:
In Ghana no one even cares about iMessage. WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app here 😹
@Diff Says:
I think “Find My” is also a feature that in the US is going to be a huge barrier alongside IMessage for parents etc. I don’t even know how the equivalent apps for other manufacturers can even come close considering the way it works is pinging any and all Find My devices nearby? Density of the product is super important and because so many people have iPhones, it’s just way easier to have accurate location data.

@AchyutChaudhary Says:
This whole green v/s blue bubbles saga sounds so amusing (& weird) to us outside the USA. I’ve been studying in schools & unis across Europe & India which are Apple’s next largest iPhone markets & literally nobody cares about iMessage here. For us students especially Gen-Zs, we use an app called ‘Snapchat’ in both Europe & India for everything from texting, video calls, group chats, studies, videos, etc. that works well regardless of which phone you use.

I use iPhone and I literally only do because: 1) The hardware (internals) is very good in my opinion. Some of the software is also very good. 2) I have used iPhone since iPhone 1 when smartphones were just a thing that nerds got into. - In other words, I am just used to iPhone. and most importantly: 3) iPhone is well supported for longer periods of time with stable LTS (Long Term Support) updates making them a better value than much of the competition in the long run. Esp if you don't pick a Pro model. I have never switched every year, that's dumb. One of the best features of iPhone is it's stability and long life. Notice how none of these reasons include "bubbles" and "because im not poor". That's because I am an adult.
@DefinitelyNattox Says:
I was on the apple ecosystem for nearly 6 years. About 8 months ago, I actively ripped myself away from the ecosystem and migrated to Samsung for several reasons. Compatibility, choice, customization, and the staleness of the iPhone were just a few. Now, the only things that are Apple in my EDC are my MacBook Pro and my Airpods pro, because I split time between them and my Galaxy Buds pro. In general, as a phone store employee, I can say people who are on Apple are on it for a few main reasons: it's something they're used to, their entire family has it, or they are mired in the ecosystem like I was, with the Watch, buds, iPad, etc.
@BigWopster Says:

@JeanRosa-qc3mb Says:
here in Brazil Apple is not popular because of the price for everything Apple related. a new iPhone costs about R$4.500 to R$12.000. for that kind of money you can literally buy a good Android phone and use the rest of the money for other things, or buy 2 or 3 waaay better android phones. people here also would never take full advantage and enjoy Apple's ecosystem. they are not buying iMacs, AWs, iPads, Airpods and such. unless they are rich basically.
@NiceAasimar Says:
Okay I know I'm going to get blasted but I'm going to say it anyway. I don't think this is a problem. There's nothing wrong with Apple only making their products work with their products. If you want to message Android users and you want more features than iMessage gives you, don't use iMessage. That's what they do in Europe. They just use WhatsApp. I myself use Discord to message my Android-using friends. But I still use iMessage for iPhone users because I prefer the iMessage UI and features when messaging fellow Apple users. Or the Apple Watch. It simply isn't plausible for Apple, or in fact any brand, to create a watch that syncs so perfectly to any phone as the Apple Watch does to iPhone. If Apple added any support at all on Apple Watch for non-iPhones, no matter how much effort they put into compatibility, it would never and COULD never be as compatible as with an iPhone, and Apple would be blasted for "purposefully making their watches work worse with other brands." AirPods DO work with non-Apple products. Do they work as well as with Apple products? No. But who can blame them? If you use a Samsung and want headphones that work better with your Samsung, you buy Samsung headphones. And it's true that this comes at the cost of being more difficult to switch. But truthfully, I think it's more important to have cross compatibility between devices of the same brand than it is to be easy to switch brands. It is not Apple's job to make Samsung, or any other brand, more enticing, or easier to switch to. If you want to switch from Samsung to Apple, you have to replace all your Samsung stuff too, unless you use 3rd party software, which you could just as easily use with Apple. All Apple is doing is offering you a better alternative than a 3rd party. If Samsung wants to solve the problem of young people wanting iPhones because of the green text bubbles, Samsung can create a messaging app that does the same thing. Should they try and make it somewhat compatible with iMessage? Yes, in the same way that Apple added RCS. I will admit, adding RCS is something Apple took WAY too long to do. But that's a problem that won't be solved by calling Apple a monopoly. Apple may be a walled garden. But if that's the case, it is not Apple's job to give you a ladder. If Samsung wants you in their garden, they need to give you the ladder. Apple, for example, has several features (such as direct data transfer from any smart device) that allow you to more easily switch. Maybe Samsung can give discounts to people who are switching so it's easier to replace more at once, or maybe they could add some way of trading in your Apple devices and replacing them for a much lower price and then just selling the trade-in devices back to Apple for refurbishment (which Apple itself does with non-iPhones). At the end of the day, Apple may make it difficult for people to switch, but that is well within Apple's rights given that they are producing their own products and designing their own software to integrate. If you want to be able to switch phones on a whim, don't buy an Apple Watch with your iPhone, but don't buy Galaxy Buds with your Samsung or a Pixel Watch with your Google Pixel. You can always buy third party watches and headphones. Will they work as well with iPhones as Apple-branded devices? No, but that's no fault of Apple's. Apple is simply offering an alternative that works better with their devices like every other company in the world does. If you don't like it, don't buy Apple.

Nobody has been forced to buy an Apple device. If you want to switch, you can. Other companies do the same with their systems. In fact every company tries to tie their customers to them as tight as possible. Don't they? I don't understand why a company get's sued because it does a better job than others building good products and ecosystem.
