Looking at it now, though the tablet's specs and performance is underwhelming the concept for its dock makes it pretty unique and interesting. Makes me wonder why Google seems to give up on their tablet series

These are just common sense moves, that somehow eluded this cutting edge tech company. Lol.
However, to be fair, you're wrong about the other apps that you say are still "phone apps" because they don't take up the entire screen. There is a setting you can activate to make ALL APPS take up the entire screen when in landscape mode. So that's at least nice. My entire purpose for getting this, was to have a better Smart Home Hub Max, that can do MUCH MORE than the Hub Max. And for the most part I got that. I also got an open box deal on Ebay, where I purchased the 256gb version for less than $300. Therefore, I've come out ahead. But Google's insane misses on common sense transitions with some of these products just drives me crazy, when they were so logical and easy to see upgrades.

Lets clear the air here for a moment.
- One it has 8gb of DDR5 compared to the supposed budget tablets in the kindle fire max 11 and ipad 10th gen
- Two its much more cheaper then ipad 10th gen and samsung tablets in the long end (you also have to pay for expensive cases from Apple and even Samsung)
- Three it has the Google play store compared to the kindle fire
- Four it has more storage compared to the ipad 10th gen
In my book and while yes this tablet isn't perfect it is cheaper and one of the better budget android tablets on the market and yes it should have better updates but this just screams a better choice and again in my opinion and its not a die hard gaming tablet. Most of us already have gaming consoles and computers we don't need a gaming tablet as well because all we do is browse the web and surf YouTube. I am looking forward to getting this tablet.

Do not buy Tablet. Google service is an absolute torture. I am on My 20th email to google support and today I emailed Mr. Sundar Pichai the CEO, Mr. Larry Page the co-founder and Mr.Sergey Brin also a co-founder for a $50.00 mini speaker that keeps disconnecting and doesn't reconnect on its own. You must do it manually 15-20 times a day. I spend a lot of time on the phone and today they put me on hold for one hour and 58 minutes and hung up on me. I have the screen capture to prove it. I just replaced my iphone 12 promax for a samsung S232 ultra and I am sorry I did. Google send a label to send the device back for them to look at it after 20+ exchanged emails. They could have some smarts and send it in the first email. So is Google smart or stupid? It is for you to decide. For me I am still waiting for Mr Pichai and Mr. Page to answer.

I'd want to have this as a replacement to my iPad, so my first thoughts are cases for when I want to take it outdoors (so protecting the screen would be important to me). Not that keen on that metal stand when taking it out though).

I like the fact that you can use WhatsApp on it, which is something you cannot do with an iPad - I'm all for this device and would sell my ipads to get this :)
