It is ironic that Google does better while using Sony sensors. As you said yourself they could very easily make their phone camera the best there is. One reason they don't may be since they sell professional DSLR cameras and may want to push those more for photography really. They do make the Xperia Pro and I would buy one if they weren't $2500 new. That is like paying for a used car! There are also people who don't get that much in income every month sadly. The cheapest I can find the Xperia Pro I for is $489 and $7.95 shipping and while I won't buy that device I do respect that seller. That is for not showing a misleadingly low price and having a the whole price mostly in shipping. I hate people who sell the item super cheap but you have to give up your house or car to pay for the shipping on the F-ing thing!

Im planning to switch to Sony for mynext phone. I need a phone with a large battery, removable Microsd and sim, also esim, so i can run dual sim. At least ip67 water proof rating. Very few phones tick all the boxes, but Sony does. The last samsung flagship that had all that was the S10 plus. The nothing phone comes close but doesnt have waterproof rating. My very old s10 plus of several years started having minor glitches. After much research i bought another S10 plus. I only now found sony. So happy to hear there is still a brand building phones that make sense.

I went through 3 Sony Xperia z1s phones, kept my last one because it had been my favorite phone. Now with the Xperia Pro i it was retarded expensive for my capabilities to fully take advantage of all its cool features and thus looking into the S24 or newer one. I've never met anyone with an Xperia they are far and few between! Not even T-Mobile will give me a penny on trade in lolol but it is unique and I guess that is one thing I do like about it. I will say this, I've created some really nice crips videos and pictures with it.

I started with the Sony Walkman, so when it was time for me to get a phone, I went for the Sony Ericsson physically available in my area. My first smartphone was also a Sony Xperia. Sony for me has been more about sound than visuals, so I'm a kinda alienated by all the new models so focused on photos and videos and not so much on sound. But yes to square edges, thank you for specifically mentioning that! And yes to a model for ordinary people from Sony again, soon I hope!

i was using sony phones and tablets for years and loved them.... but there was a fatal flaw in the display tech... 1 single hairline crack disabling one area of the screen from touch funktionality made me finally switch to other brands...
