@bigpicturetime Says:
Autofocus on the selfie camera should be on every phone, like why would you leave it out? Seems kinda ridiculous.
@kutmanamangeldiev2970 Says:
is it still okay in 2025
@age_of_reason Says:
2 swipes down to adjust brightness is a deal breaker for me. That's 5 swipes in total. Unacceptable for the single most used adjustment on the phone.

That's way too much manipulation of my pictures. Lol I want a snapshot of real life. That's the point of a picture. If I wanted a fake picture I'd buy art. Lol

Coming to this super late. The audio and video aren't quite synced..... Thought you should know
@GeeksAndGamingNetwork Says:
what about getting it today (2025) for $260 refurbished?.... i have a galaxy s22 plus but after a year with it i'm really not impressed...would like to see a follow-up review of this pixel 8 in 2025 to see if it's worth getting at under $300, and if the features that seemed to be lacking have been improved....i never used a pixel phone, my main phones over the years have either been redmi notes or outdated Samsung galaxy phones; i keep going back and forth between the 2 but always lean towards redmi overall; but i want to have a 3rd option these days that gives flagship features without the flagship price.
@TheMustachioedJames Says:
I just took my 8 pro to a concert by one of my favorite performers. I wasn't that guy, I didn't sit there and record the whole show, but I did get it out for one of my favorite songs. I was floored when I got home and uploaded the recording at the quality stereo separation and the wide, but very defined staging the phone achieved. There were brief periods of adjustment to input gain during transitions from loud to soft passages, as expected, but it dialed in quickly to the environment it was in and managed a largely clipping-free experience. The "you are there" feeling on playback is incredible. I had to do a little EQ adjustment in the low end, of course, for listening at less than concert levels, but for what I was able to achieve with this phone I got a spectacular live recording I'll treasure for the rest of my life. A+++ for that specific purpose, and the video features and quality are pretty stellar for it being now 2 gens behind, too.

Another paid for by giggle post to help sell this piece of crap. Buy a computer
@PeacefulPariah Says:
I'm confused. Why wouldn't the Pro version have more advanced features? Isn't that what your pay extra for the Pro? If the only difference was screen size then I'd be incredibly disappointed.

Coming from an S25 Ultra—and before that, an S24 Ultra—I switched to a Pixel 8 Pro out of curiosity after hearing so many people praise the Google experience.
Let’s be honest: Samsung is years ahead.
Sometimes it feels like Google just isn’t capable.
Multi-window? Themes? Text-to-speech? You can’t even share Wi-Fi directly from your Pixel! (Yes, you can share hotspot Wi-Fi, Pixel users.)
If you travel to countries where the Pixel isn’t sold, you basically have to change your phone because you actually can’t share your 5G or 4G connection.
Sure, the cameras are good—that’s what initially caught my attention—but they have reflection problems. You can’t take videos or pictures at night with lights in front of you.
This is a well-known issue on forums, yet none of the YouTubers I follow have talked about it, at least none that I’m aware of.
Samsung’s UI is by far the most advanced I’ve tried.
And come on, I know Google has multi-windowing on their Fold! But, lazy as they seem, they still haven’t implemented a stable version of it on their phones with the Android 16 upgrade.
Even switching apps in multi-window mode feels a century behind Samsung.
Samsung’s voice recognition is just professional. The Google version? Garbage.
And the night mode, supposedly designed to save battery by turning off pixels? On the Pixel, it’s just a dark mode—not true black—maybe even slightly blue
.
Btw, gboard use the data for ads.. you can verify.

I own a Google Pixel 8 Pro and I HATE IT.
I went from a Samsung Galaxy S series to Pixel Pro and it was a DOWNGRADE.
I read good things about the cameras, so that is what swayed me to the Pixel
What I didn't read, was that Google makes the camera useless. They CONSTANTLY TAKE OVER by either BLANKING OUT your screen and telling you to move back for a better picture or initiating a pop up ZOOM BOX THAT TOTALLY BLOCKS WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO RECORD/PIC OF. The stupid box makes it impossible to see.
Then there's the "Search" in MY FILES that finds absolutely nothing, most of the time. Pixel 8 pro is the dumbest phone that I've EVER USED.
DO NOT DISTURB PRETTY MUCH JUST SHUTS DOWN ALL NOTIFICATIONS EVEN IF YOU STARRED CONTACTS.
Google keyboard is constantly typing words that I don't want and it can't even figure out what I'm trying to spell. It puts random words, that don't correlate the context..
Do NOT BUY the PIXEL PHONE
Google has turned a good phone into a piece of crap by adding Google Software to it.
@88jaspersimmons Says:
I regret buying this phone. The battery is just atrocious. Would not recommend.
@3lla97 Says:
Awful phone, regret every day having bought it. Cant even connect to internet now!
@p0indexter624 Says:
what if you are documenting something legal or official w pixel pro 9 xl ?
it uses AI and features that taint the authenticity of a digital image.
can they be relied upon in that regard ?

@Dawider10 Says:
Why did you not say anything about Ultra HDR? 😭 I didn't even know this technology existed, it seems like nobody is talking about it. Just recently I bought a Pixel 7 which also got Ultra HDR in an update and I was so amazed when I discovered it. This is the revolution in photos I've been waiting for - actual HDR in photos.

@Telbel-c7v Says:
I have the 4a and Google sent me a message saying my battery may be affected by the upgrade to Android 14 and did I want a new battery, £50, or £100 store credit. So I bought the 8 today for £350. What a day!
