Why do you edit 8K RAW? Every studio I’ve worked with or interviewed for work on offline proxies. So Apple ProRes LT/Proxy or Avid DNxHR LB. Then relink to the 8K RAW for color or send out a ProRes 4444 XQ of DNxHR HQX for color or VFX.

Sadly I had to return a :m1 max studio, tho I still hated to, also loved the design teal. I had to, bc these devices as amazing as they are, aren’t ready to run my massive terrain project in ue 5.3.2. I mean it ran it, not many slowdowns, but my terrain was flickering I. Many places, and I could not work that way. Any idea what caused that,,maybe epics engine, unreal engine, wasn’t done well enough to make the M1 Max cleanly display terrain minus flickering, which doesn’t in windows editor. If not for that calamity, I’d have prob kept it, as it ran blender better than I’ve ever seen anything run it.

The people who designed the Mac Studio missed a couple of obvious things. 1st. They put the power button on the back flush with the outer case. They should have put it next to the power light on the front. Where it is, you cannot easily find it without moving the entire computer. 2nd. The SD card should be securely held in the card slot.

I just got the M2 MAX Mac Studio and it's a beast! The M1 Ultra is more than enough as the Mac Studio is overkill for most users. It's a godsend for video editors though! You can also watch 8K Youtube videos with no issues. My laptop with an RTX 3070 struggled with 8K vids. Made a tech review of it as well but someday I hope to reach your level. Keep up the awesome videos Marques!
