Having had two pairs of 1000 xm4 which lasted 2 years each and failed due to cheap plastic shit folding capability which failed on both i welcome the new design. I dont need to pay £250 every two years for headphones. Hopefully theyve improved the design flaw of the xm4. I'll see how my new xm5s get on.

I've just bought these and I have to point something out: I was annoyed when MKB showed how the earcups only rotate one way and how that means you can't rest them "cup down" around your neck. But now I've got them I have discovered this isn't quite true - there's about a 45 degree rotation in the opposite direction that Marques didn't mention. When you wear them around your neck you can rotate about 45 degrees "cup down", and not only is it more comfortable than I expected, it also ticks my totally superficial and vain "looks cool" box.

Folding makes them less sturdy and shaky IMO

Good morning everyone. Please do not buy these headphones if you plan to work out. It constantly falls off your head since the material is too soft and slippery. I bought it and had to return it the next day cause it would not stay on! But if you do not plan on working out or going on a run. It's a great headphone with a good sound system and soft material.

My XM4’s just completely died after less than a year. So disappointed because I absolutely loved them. I did every troubleshoot I could find and nothing worked. Just completely dead. Now i really miss them, but I can’t decide if I want to give Sony another 300+ dollars for a product that lasted last than a year. Im so disappointed and conflicted.

I want to buy this headphone for my iPhone 15 pro max, but got bit confused as I found that iPhone doesn’t support the signature LDAC codec which sony uses on their high end headphones.
This headphone (XM5) also doesn’t support Apple’s own codec ALAC (I think none of the headphones/ earphones support this ALAC yet).
So we are left with only AAC which iPhones use to generate sound through headphones !
As far as I know AAC is far inferior to LDAC then how can we utilise the true potential of these headphones on iPhone ?
Despite all this information, is it still a good idea to buy this pair for iPhone 15 pro max in 2024 ?

The folding shouldn't be much of an issue because it's only a couple inches difference and it shouldn't be an issue of space in most bags.
