As a Youngstown resident. When you brought up Lordstown Motors. I was incredibly ashamed.
But Lordstown Motors got a very bad deal from GM with the loan to make cars in the plant that GM left. If you ask anyone 35+ years old about GM and Lordstown Motors, you're going to get a very frustrated look. As of December 2022, They delievered only 60 something trucks. *Sigh*
However there is an upside, Foxconn is coming in to make two EVs in the plant for Fisker, and the battery plant next door is rapidly expanding to meet demand. AND they are developing a battery recycling plant to dirrectly compete with China in a very specific recycling method that only China is doing right now.
So, there is an immesurable amount of grievances surrounding Lordstown Motors and GM, but the Foxxconn deal and battery plants are both a significant silver lining.

I just feel sorry when those batteries go bad and you are going to have to pay $100000 to get new batteries ill keep my diesel. I dont need a fancy golf cart to drive around on the highway. Plug-in hybrids are in this class as well. They are being hyped and yet you can't go to a dealer and get one. You are placed on a list with hundreds of back orders. Dealers simply ignore their list and mark them way up when they do get shipments. The list is part of their story when they press suckers to buy right away with a huge markup. Marketing in this country has reached all new lows.
